Fiji Airways Soars with Enhanced Flight Frequency and Global Reach

Fiji Airways has significantly improved flight frequencies and continues to offer a high level of service for visitors, despite maintaining lower ticket prices.

This information was highlighted in the Fiji Hotel Market Dynamics report for July 2024 by Jones Lang Lasalle (JLL), a leading global commercial real estate and investment management company, during the AHICE Fiji Investment in Tourism Summit in Nadi.

“They have introduced new aircraft and continue to offer aggressive airfares to further boost seat capacity to these destinations,” the report stated.

This trend is expected to continue as Fiji Airways aims to unlock more flight routes in the coming years. Other airlines operating out of Fiji, including Virgin Australia, Air New Zealand, Qantas, Jetstar, Air Niugini, Air Vanuatu, and Solomon Airlines, are also following this pattern.

Targeted marketing and advertising efforts globally have effectively fueled strong growth from Australia, New Zealand, and North America (US and Canada), supporting increased demand.

In the early months of 2024, the top three source markets recorded significant growth compared to the same period in 2019, and inbound arrivals from the Pacific Islands have almost fully recovered.

However, much of Asia (China, Japan, South Korea, India) and Continental Europe are still steadily recovering and remain below pre-pandemic arrival numbers.
