Fiji Airways has expanded its international reach by introducing its longest flight yet, providing the inaugural direct service from Dallas Fort Worth, Texas, to Nadi, Fiji. The new route, which operates three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, is expected to significantly enhance connectivity for travelers.

Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) is noted as the second most connected airport worldwide, facilitating better access for Fiji Airways passengers to various global destinations. Fiji Airways CEO, Andre Viljoen, remarked on the strategic importance of this route for U.S. travelers, highlighting that it will support tourism in Fiji by bringing in up to 1,000 passengers weekly, while also fostering business opportunities between the two countries.

DFW’s Chief Executive, Sean Donohue, expressed enthusiasm over this new service, noting that it allows North Texas residents direct access to the idyllic Fijian islands, further enhancing the airport’s extensive international portfolio.

The inaugural flight from Nadi to Dallas Fort Worth, which lasted 13 hours, arrived on December 10, 2024, at 3:25 PM CST, greeted with a celebratory water cannon salute. The return flight from DFW is set to depart at 9:55 PM CST on the same day, arriving in Nadi on December 12 at 5:20 AM local time.

Fiji Airways is utilizing the advanced Airbus A350-900 XWB aircraft for this route, which accommodates 334 passengers, including 33 lie-flat business class seats for superior comfort. This new Dallas to Nadi route adds to the airline’s expanding North American presence and becomes its fifth direct service to the region, alongside others from Los Angeles, San Francisco, Honolulu, and Vancouver.

As part of its strategic growth, Fiji Airways is also set to launch a new service to Cairns, Australia, in April 2025, which will build on this expansion. Additionally, the airline plans to adopt American Airlines’ AAdvantage® loyalty program next year and join the oneworld® alliance by March 31, 2025, promising enhanced travel benefits for passengers.

To commemorate the launch of the DFW-NAN route, Fiji Airways is offering promotional return flights starting at $1,999 per person from Nadi, available until December 17, 2024.
