Fiji Airways is pushing for world-class accreditation with APEX and is introducing a Pacific Rim cuisine menu that spotlights Fiji’s prime location and uses locally sourced, sustainable and organic ingredients from Fiji and the wider Pacific region. The move is part of a broader plan to elevate the airline’s dining and service standards while maintaining a strong sense of Fijian hospitality.

Purser and world-class trainer Elayna Gibson described the new menu as a gateway to a diverse array of flavors and cooking styles drawn from across the Pacific Rim. The airline is backing the menu with hands-on galley training, including workshops where crew members plate meals alongside trainers. “Being there to plate with the trainers is a totally new concept,” Gibson explained, noting that the on-board delivery reflects elevated standards and greater consistency thanks to the immersive training.

Another feature already available in business class is soft dine on demand, which allows passengers to order any menu item at any time during the flight. Gibson emphasized the flexibility, saying passengers can request a breakfast late at night or switch to a full dinner halfway through the journey, and the service has proven popular with guests.

Context and added value
– Fiji Airways has been building a track record of recognition for passenger experience, including multiple APEX Five Star distinctions in recent years, underscoring its commitment to service, safety and comfort.
– The airline has also pursued network growth and enhanced connectivity, with plans and announcements around new routes and continued modernization of its onboard products and services.

What this means for travelers
– A richer Pacific Rim dining experience onboard, with menus rooted in local Fiji ingredients and sustainable sourcing.
– Greater dining flexibility in business class via soft dine on demand, offering more control over meal timing and selections.
– Continued confidence for passengers that the airline is pursuing top-tier accreditation and consistently elevating in-flight service.

Fiji Airways’ new Pacific Rim menu and hands-on galley training aim to raise in-flight dining and service standards in pursuit of APEX accreditation, while delivering more dining flexibility through soft dine on demand in business class. The initiative aligns with the airline’s broader strategy of showcasing Fijian hospitality and regional flavors at altitude, backed by a track record of industry recognition and ongoing service enhancements.
