Fiji Airways has secured its role as an Official Airline Partner of the LA Clippers for the 2024-25 NBA season, further solidifying its ties with Los Angeles. The airline is the only carrier offering daily non-stop flights between Fiji and Los Angeles, providing travelers with convenient access to both destinations and its acclaimed service.
This partnership aims to deepen Fiji Airways’ presence in the Los Angeles area, allowing for extensive branding at Clippers games, unique promotions, contests, and participation in youth camps and clinics organized by the team.
“We’re thrilled to support the Clippers and their fans, both on and off the court, and bring our long-standing direct service from Los Angeles to Fiji into the spotlight,” stated Fiji Airways’ Chief Executive and Managing Director Andre Viljoen. He expressed excitement about this being their first sponsorship with an NBA team, alongside recent announcements regarding direct flights to Dallas, joining the American Airlines AAdvantage loyalty program, and plans for full membership in the Oneworld Alliance by 2025.
As part of their three-year sponsorship, Fiji Airways’ branding will be prominently displayed at the new Intuit Dome during all Clippers home games, attracting attention to the beauty of Fiji’s islands. “With over 17,500 passionate fans attending each game, this partnership allows us to present Fiji to a large audience, enhancing tourism and awareness of our island nation,” Viljoen added.
Clippers fans can expect special travel deals, unique promotions, and exciting contests throughout the upcoming NBA season, with opportunities to win exclusive prizes such as complimentary flights to Fiji, travel packages, and VIP experiences at games.
“This partnership transcends sports. The Clippers embody our values of teamwork, determination, and excellence. Like us, they aim to unite people and create unforgettable experiences. We look forward to welcoming more Clippers fans aboard,” said Viljoen.
Moreover, Fiji Airways intends to support Clippers Community initiatives through youth camps and clinics, aligning with its commitment to contribute positively to the community and nurture future sports talent.
Scott Sonnenberg, Chief Commercial Officer of the LA Clippers and Intuit Dome, remarked, “We are honored to be Fiji Airways’ first NBA partner and look forward to reaching new audiences globally. Together, we will elevate our efforts and create new experiences for Clipper Nation.”
