Fiji Airways has announced revised schedules for nine international flights as it continues to recover from recent service disruptions caused by the failure of runway lights at Nadi Airport. In a travel alert released today, the airline emphasized that it is actively working on restoring its flight schedules, with adjustments being made to both long-haul and regional flights to reposition aircraft and crews effectively.
Among the flights impacted are those connecting Nadi with major cities such as Los Angeles, Sydney, Brisbane, and Melbourne. For example, Flight FJ810 from Nadi to Los Angeles is now set to depart at 10:00 AM, a shift from its original schedule on Sunday, January 11.
The revised timings for flights heading to Australia include Flight FJ911 from Nadi to Sydney, which will now also depart at 10:00 AM, while the return flight FJ910 from Sydney to Nadi is adjusted to leave at 3:00 PM. Other changes entail Flights FJ921 and FJ920 from Nadi to Brisbane, which are now scheduled to depart at 8:50 AM and 12:20 PM, respectively.
Services to Melbourne have also been altered: Flight FJ935 from Nadi to Melbourne will depart at 9:00 AM, with the return Flight FJ934 leaving Melbourne at 2:55 PM. Additionally, a supplementary service, FJ1934, will now operate from Melbourne at 10:00 AM, taking the place of a previously scheduled flight.
Fiji Link domestic services are reportedly operating normally, though minor adjustments might be needed to ensure passenger connections are maintained. Fiji Airways has confirmed that its teams are directly reaching out to all affected passengers to assist with their travel arrangements and provide any necessary updates.
Emphasizing the safety of both its passengers and crew as its top priority, Fiji Airways has expressed gratitude for the patience and understanding shown by travelers throughout this recovery process. As the airline continues to make progress in reinstating its services, there is optimism that operations will return to normal soon.
