Fiji Airways has expanded its global reach with the introduction of its longest flight yet—an inaugural direct service connecting Dallas Fort Worth, Texas, to Nadi, Fiji. This new route will initially operate three times per week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, significantly enhancing travel options for passengers.
Dallas Fort Worth International Airport has earned recognition as the second most connected airport worldwide, facilitating easier access for Fiji Airways travelers to a multitude of international destinations.
Fiji Airways CEO Andre Viljoen expressed pride in this new development, stating that the service will greatly enhance connectivity for travelers from the U.S. to Fiji and the South Pacific, as well as smooth onward travel to Australia and New Zealand. He highlighted the potential to bring up to 1,000 passengers to Fiji each week, thereby supporting the tourism sector and fostering business opportunities between the two countries.
DFW Chief Executive Sean Donohue also welcomed this new international route, emphasizing that it provides North Texas with direct access to the picturesque islands of Fiji while integrating seamlessly with DFW’s extensive network of over 250 destinations worldwide.
The inaugural 13-hour flight from Nadi to Dallas Fort Worth took place on December 10, 2024, where it was ceremoniously greeted with a water cannon salute. The reverse flight is scheduled to depart Dallas at 21:55 CST on the same day, arriving in Fiji at 05:20 AM local time on December 12, 2024.
Fiji Airways is utilizing the modern Airbus A350-900 XWB for this service, featuring 334 seats, including 33 lie-flat, aisle-access business class seats, prioritizing passenger comfort.
This DFW-NAN route enhances Fiji Airways’ presence in North America, joining the airline’s existing routes from Los Angeles, San Francisco, Honolulu, and Vancouver—making it the fifth direct connection to the region. The new service is integral to the airline’s strategy to expand its international network, marking its 26th direct international route. Furthermore, it will be complemented by a new service to Cairns, Australia, starting April 10, 2025.
Additionally, Fiji Airways is poised to join the oneworld® alliance and adopt American Airlines’ AAdvantage® loyalty program within the coming years, further improving travel benefits for its customers.
To celebrate the launch, Fiji Airways is offering enticing return ticket deals to Dallas Fort Worth starting at $1,999 per person from Nadi, available until December 17, 2024.
