Fiji Airways Launches Exciting Non-Stop Dallas Connection!

Fiji Airways has announced its inaugural non-stop flights from Nadi to Dallas Fort Worth, Texas, a key travel hub in the United States. During a press conference held in Nadi, CEO Andre Viljoen shared that this new route is a part of the airline’s 7th Game Changer Strategy aimed at enhancing its operations in North America.

The first flight is set to launch on December 10, 2024, departing Nadi Airport at 9:15 PM and landing in Dallas at 4:30 PM on the same day. The return flight from Dallas will leave at 11:10 PM on December 10 and arrive in Nadi at 5:20 AM on December 12. This new 13-hour service will operate three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, utilizing the modern Airbus A350-900 aircraft.

Viljoen expressed enthusiasm about this milestone, anticipating that the new route could bring over 1,000 passengers weekly to Fiji, providing a significant boost to the local tourism sector. He highlighted Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport as a major hub, facilitating around 1,100 domestic and international flights daily, which can peak over 2,000 flights during busy periods, connecting to more than 250 destinations globally.

The new direct service enhances Fiji Airways’ connectivity with the United States and opens up access to numerous destinations, including New York, Miami, London, and Paris.

Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Professor Biman Prasad noted the potential for increased tourism and trade opportunities between Fiji and the United States, citing Dallas as an emerging source market for tourism. He added that Dallas will be Fiji Airways’ 24th international direct destination and its fifth in North America, joining Los Angeles, San Francisco, Honolulu, and Vancouver.

Flight operations to and from Dallas are dependent on regulatory approvals from the U.S. Government.
