Fiji Airways is expanding its international reach with the introduction of its longest flight to date, providing the first direct service from Dallas Fort Worth, Texas, to Nadi, Fiji. The route will initially operate three times weekly on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) is recognized as the second most connected airport globally, enhancing access for Fiji Airways passengers to numerous worldwide destinations.
Fiji Airways CEO, Andre Viljoen, expressed enthusiasm about the new service, emphasizing its potential to greatly improve connectivity for U.S. travelers to Fiji and the South Pacific. This route is projected to bring approximately 1,000 visitors to Fiji each week, thereby supporting the local tourism sector and fostering increased business collaboration between the U.S. and Fiji.
In a statement, Sean Donohue, DFW’s Chief Executive, mentioned that the addition of Fiji to their international destinations offers North Texas residents direct access to this tropical paradise, enriching the overall travel options available from DFW.
The inaugural flight from Nadi landed at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport at 3:25 PM CST on December 10, 2024, and was celebrated with a water cannon salute. The return flight is scheduled to depart on December 10, 2024, at 9:55 PM CST, with passengers arriving in Nadi on December 12, 2024, at 5:20 AM local time.
Utilizing the modern Airbus A350-900 XWB, Fiji Airways will offer enhanced passenger experiences, featuring 334 seats, including 33 lie-flat business class seats designed for maximum comfort.
This new DFW to NAN route is crucial to Fiji Airways’ growth in North America and becomes its fifth direct service to the region, complementing existing routes from cities like Los Angeles, San Francisco, Honolulu, and Vancouver. Additionally, this launch marks Fiji Airways’ 26th international direct route, with plans to connect seamlessly to a new service in Cairns, Australia, set to start on April 10, 2025.
The DFW-NAN service represents a significant aspect of Fiji Airways’ strategies to enhance its global network. Upcoming milestones include the integration with American Airlines’ AAdvantage® loyalty program and full membership in the oneworld® alliance by March 31, 2025, which will provide further travel benefits to customers.
To celebrate this new route, Fiji Airways is offering special return fares to Dallas Fort Worth starting at $1,999 per person until December 17, 2024.
