Fiji Airways has revealed plans to launch a new direct flight service connecting Nadi, Fiji, to Cairns, Australia, starting from April 10, 2025. This new route will operate three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, enhancing travel options between the two regions.

According to a statement from Fiji Airways, this service is designed to provide Cairns passengers with convenient connections to destinations such as Dallas/Fort Worth via Nadi, thus offering an expedited travel route to North America and beyond.

The introduction of the Nadi-Cairns service is part of Fiji Airways’ strategy to expand its network, providing travelers with increased connectivity and travel choices. Managing Director and CEO André Viljoen emphasized that this new service is an essential step toward enhancing customer options.

Cairns Airport’s CEO, Richard Barker, described the flight service as a significant advancement for the region. He noted that this connection not only makes the South Pacific easily accessible to locals seeking holiday opportunities or visiting family but also improves the efficiency of travel to North America through Fiji Airways’ hub in Nadi. Notably, travel times to cities like Los Angeles and San Francisco have been reduced to around 16 hours, cutting nearly three hours off the previous journey through an Australian domestic port.

Fiji Airways has put the new Nadi to Cairns flights on sale, with attractive introductory fares starting at FJD $799 Lite and $899 Value for a round trip per person.

In summary, Fiji Airways’ new service aims to enhance regional connectivity and provide exciting travel opportunities for both locals and international visitors alike, demonstrating the airline’s commitment to expanding travel options across the Pacific and beyond. This development marks a promising step for tourism and economic growth in both Fiji and Australia.
