Fiji Airways has expanded its global reach by introducing its longest flight and first direct connection between Dallas Fort Worth, Texas, and Nadi, Fiji. This new service will initially run three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, recognized as the second most connected airport worldwide, offers Fiji Airways passengers more convenient access to a wide array of international destinations.

Fiji Airways’ CEO and Managing Director, Andre Viljoen, expressed his enthusiasm about the service, stating, “This new route significantly strengthens Fiji Airways’ connectivity across North America, making it easier than ever for U.S. travelers to access Fiji and the South Pacific, with seamless onward connections to Australia and New Zealand. In line with our mission, ‘We Fly for Fiji,’ this new service will bring up to 1,000 passengers to Fiji each week, supporting our nation’s tourism industry and creating new avenues for business collaboration between our two nations.”

Sean Donohue, Chief Executive of DFW, emphasized the significance of the new route, saying, “DFW is excited to add the beautiful islands of Fiji to our growing portfolio of international destinations, bringing North Texas nonstop access to a tropical paradise and connecting Nadi with DFW’s network of more than 250 destinations around the world.”

The inaugural flight from Nadi landed at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport on December 10, 2024, receiving an impressive water cannon salute. Passengers on the first flight from Dallas to Fiji will depart at 21:55 CST on December 10, 2024, and arrive in Nadi at 05:20 AM local time on December 12, 2024.

Utilizing the state-of-the-art Airbus A350-900 XWB, Fiji Airways provides a comfortable travel experience with premium seating for 334 customers, including 33 lie-flat, aisle-access business class seats.

This new DFW-NAN route enhances Fiji Airways’ presence in North America, adding to existing flights from Los Angeles, San Francisco, Honolulu, and Vancouver, marking it as the fifth direct route in the region.

Villjoen noted, “Dallas Fort Worth serves as a key strategic hub for us, offering passengers access to over 250 cities worldwide, and unlocking exciting travel and business opportunities.” This new route also signifies Fiji Airways’ 26th international direct route and complements the airline’s upcoming 27th direct service to Cairns, Australia, set to launch on April 10, 2025.

The DFW-NAN service is central to Fiji Airways’ strategic plans to enhance its global network and improve Fiji’s connectivity to the world. Additional milestones include the adoption of American Airlines’ AAdvantage® loyalty program set for next year and full membership in the oneworld® alliance beginning March 31, 2025, which will provide more travel benefits for customers.

To celebrate the launch, Fiji Airways is offering return flights from Nadi to Dallas Fort Worth, starting at just $1,999 per person, available until December 17, 2024.

This new route not only enhances travel options but also strengthens the ties between Fiji and the U.S., presenting travelers with a unique opportunity to explore the beauty of the South Pacific.

In summary, Fiji Airways’ new service represents a significant step forward in diversifying travel options and promoting tourism, which bodes well for both the airline and Fiji’s economic growth in the coming years.
