Fiji Airways has implemented temporary measures to ensure the continuity of its operations while addressing some challenges within its fleet. This decision comes after the airline recently utilized a B737 Max for its morning flights between Nadi and Nausori, replacing two ATR72 aircraft. Insiders indicated that one of the ATR72 planes is currently out of service, prompting the airline to salvage parts from an ATR42 model, which subsequently led to the grounding of that aircraft. The other ATR72 is being used to accommodate a surge in passengers traveling to Vavau, Tonga, particularly for whale watching activities.
