Fiji Airways has welcomed two new ATR aircraft into its fleet, a move aimed at bolstering the airline’s network and improving connectivity throughout Fiji and the South Pacific region. The first aircraft landed on December 29, 2024, while the second followed shortly on January 5, 2025.

This expansion is part of Fiji Airways’ commitment to enhance domestic capacity and better serve the needs of regional communities, particularly in Northern Fiji. The two ATR 72-600 aircraft, each capable of accommodating 68 passengers, will primarily operate on regional routes that connect the Northern and Western divisions of Fiji.

Looking ahead, Fiji Airways plans to introduce more ATR aircraft, which will further boost capacity and offer increased frequency and efficiency on vital domestic routes such as Nadi-Suva and Labasa. This strategic expansion is set to significantly enhance connectivity and accessibility within Fiji’s regional network.

Moreover, it aligns with Fiji Airways’ broader vision of strengthening its Nadi Hub by improving connectivity for passengers. This development is expected to provide better travel options for those seeking to connect between domestic flights and international services, promising a brighter future for air travel in the region.

Overall, the addition of these aircraft underscores Fiji Airways’ dedication to advancing travel opportunities and supporting the economic growth of local communities, which is certainly a positive development for the region.
