Fiji Airways has expanded its global reach with the introduction of its longest flight to date, marking the beginning of direct service between Dallas Fort Worth, Texas, and Nadi, Fiji. This new route will initially operate three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
Dallas Fort Worth International Airport is recognized as the second most connected airport worldwide, allowing Fiji Airways to provide its passengers with improved access to numerous global destinations.
Fiji Airways’ CEO and Managing Director, Andre Viljoen, expressed enthusiasm for the new service, stating that it greatly enhances connectivity for travelers from North America to Fiji and the South Pacific. He emphasized that the service is poised to bring in up to 1,000 passengers to Fiji weekly, thereby boosting the local tourism sector and fostering business relationships between the two nations.
Sean Donohue, Chief Executive at DFW, also shared his excitement over the new route, highlighting the direct access to Fiji as a valuable addition to the airport’s international offerings.
The inaugural flight from Nadi landed in Dallas Fort Worth at 3:25 PM CST on December 10, 2024, greeted with a celebratory water cannon salute. The return flight is set to depart at 9:55 PM CST the same day, arriving in Nadi at 5:20 AM local time on December 12, 2024.
Fiji Airways is utilizing the modern Airbus A350-900 XWB for this route, providing premium accommodations for up to 334 passengers, which includes 33 lie-flat business class seats for enhanced comfort.
This Dallas to Nadi route further solidifies Fiji Airways’ growing presence in North America, complementing its existing services from Los Angeles, San Francisco, Honolulu, and Vancouver, and marking the fifth direct route to the region.
In addition to expanding its direct routes, Fiji Airways will soon adopt American Airlines’ AAdvantage® loyalty program and join the oneworld® alliance in March 2025, introducing more travel benefits for its customers.
To commemorate the launch, Fiji Airways is offering return flights from Nadi to Dallas Fort Worth starting at $1,999 per person, available until December 17, 2024.
