Fiji Airways has announced the cancellation of all flights to and from Brisbane on Saturday, March 8, 2025, due to the ongoing effects of Tropical Cyclone Alfred. The airline expressed regret over the disruption and stated that they are working diligently to accommodate affected passengers on their Sunday, March 9, 2025, services.

Flight FJ921 is scheduled to depart Nadi for Brisbane at 8:15 AM on Sunday, with a return flight, FJ920, taking place later that same day. In addition, a supplementary Airbus A330 flight, FJ1923, will also operate on Sunday, departing Nadi at 8:30 PM and returning as FJ1922.

Brisbane Airport has suspended all passenger flights due to safety concerns arising from the cyclone, mirroring broader operational challenges faced by airlines during adverse weather conditions. The cyclone has resulted in significant flight cancellations at Brisbane, with over 320 flights affected, including operations from other major carriers such as Virgin Australia, Qantas, and Jetstar.

This situation underscores the complexities airlines encounter in maintaining operations amidst severe weather. However, Fiji Airways’ proactive approach to rebooking passengers on alternate flights showcases the airline’s commitment to passenger safety and care during such emergencies. Despite the inconvenience caused by these cancellations, there is hope that the weather will improve soon, allowing for a swift return to normal operations and enhanced travel experiences for customers.
