Fiji Airways has recently bolstered its fleet with the addition of two new ATR aircraft, aiming to enhance its network and improve connectivity throughout Fiji and the South Pacific. The first ATR arrived on December 29, 2024, followed by the second on January 5, 2025.

This strategic expansion is part of Fiji Airways’ commitment to increasing domestic capacity and better serving regional communities, especially in Northern Fiji. Both ATR 72-600 aircraft, which seat 68 passengers, will primarily service regional routes, including areas within the Northern and Western divisions of the country.

Looking ahead, the airline plans to introduce more ATR aircraft to further increase capacity and facilitate more frequent and efficient services on major domestic routes like Nadi-Suva and Labasa. This move not only promises to enhance connectivity across Fiji’s regional network but also aligns with Fiji Airways’ broader strategy to strengthen its Nadi Hub. By improving connectivity and travel options, particularly for those transitioning between domestic and international flights, Fiji Airways is positioning itself to better meet the needs of its passengers.

Overall, the addition of these ATR aircraft represents a positive development for regional travel in Fiji, paving the way for enhanced connectivity and convenience for travelers. This expansion reflects the airline’s dedication to supporting local communities and fostering economic growth within the region.
