Fiji Airports disclosed in its 2022 annual report that it compensated its three directors a total of $30,564 for their services throughout the financial year. Additionally, $11,632 was allotted for other expenses, primarily travel and accommodation incurred during the performance of their duties. The report, presented to Parliament, lists Hasmukh Lal and Viliame Vodonaivalu as the board directors for the year, with Hasmukh Patel serving as the chairperson following his appointment in June 2022.

The annual report noted that Nemia Dawai resigned from the board in October 2022. According to the guidelines set forth by the Ministry for Economy, Civil Service and Communications, the board may consist of up to seven directors unless otherwise specified.

Previous discussions highlighted the solid financial contributions that Fiji Airports makes to the government, averaging approximately $20 million annually in profit-sharing. The company has made strides in improving its service offerings and sustainability initiatives, as noted by various representatives in Parliament. These efforts could be seen as paving the way for a promising future for Fiji Airports as they gear up for an expected influx of tourists, projected at around a million visitors.

This perspective on growth and improvement may contribute to a more robust tourism sector in Fiji, enhancing economic activities and services in the region. Such progress underscores the vital role of aviation in supporting national revenue and development.
