The Digicel Fiji Baby Bula Boys are set to compete against the host nation, Tahiti, in the second semifinal of the OFC U-16 Men’s Championship on Thursday. Coached by Sunil Kumar, the team secured second place in Group A, achieving two victories and one defeat. Fiji triumphed over the Cook Islands with a score of 2-1 and edged past Vanuatu 3-2, but faced a significant challenge when they lost 7-1 to the tournament favorites, New Zealand. In the first semifinal, New Zealand will take on New Caledonia at 1pm, while the match between Fiji and Tahiti is scheduled to start at 4pm (Fiji Time). The matches are crucial, as the winners of both semifinals, along with the victor of the third/fourth place play-off, will earn a spot in the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Qatar next year.
