Fiji aims to leverage their home advantage as the FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifiers proceed this month in Suva. With match day three on the horizon, Coach Rob Sherman is preparing his team to make a strong bid for a spot in the semi-finals, set to take place in New Zealand in early 2025.

Sherman is optimistic about the team’s readiness, having kept most of the squad he worked with earlier this year. “We’ve had a couple of friendlies in the September window, so we’ve been working with the team consistently throughout the year,” he remarked.

Regarding the team’s preparation for the qualifiers, Sherman expressed satisfaction, stating, “Things have gone pretty well, so I’m reasonably happy with the progress we’ve made.”
