Fiji aims to leverage its home advantage as the FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifiers continue this month in Suva. With match day three approaching, Coach Rob Sherman’s team is preparing for a strong effort to reach the semi-final stage, set to take place in New Zealand in early 2025. The coach feels optimistic, having retained most of the players from earlier this year.

“We’ve had a couple of friendlies in the September window, so we’ve been working with the team consistently throughout the year,” Sherman stated. “In terms of preparation for the qualifiers, things have gone pretty well, so I’m reasonably happy with the progress we’ve made.”
