The Minister of Youth and Sports, Jese Saukuru, warmly welcomed the Fiji 7s team and the Fijiana 7s team back to Nadi International Airport following their successful participation in the Paris Olympics.
After their arrival, both teams were honored with a traditional welcoming ceremony at the Tanoa International Hotel.
Saukuru expressed his pride and happiness in congratulating the Fiji 7s team for securing a silver medal in the prestigious event. He praised the team’s hard work, dedication, and resilience, highlighting their representation of the true spirit of Fijian rugby on a global stage.
The Minister also recognized the Fijiana 7s team for their commendable efforts on the field, acknowledging that while the results were not as hoped, their performance was inspiring. He conveyed pride in their representation of the nation with passion and dedication.
Saukuru expressed his appreciation to the coaches and management of both teams for their steadfast support and leadership throughout the tournament. He particularly acknowledged Osea Kolinisau and his family for their ongoing commitment and support to the team.
