The Minister of Youth and Sports, Jese Saukuru, welcomed the Fiji 7s team and the Fijiana 7s team at the Nadi International Airport following their successful participation in the Paris Olympics.
Both teams were later honored at Tanoa International Hotel with a traditional welcoming ceremony.
Saukuru expressed his pride in congratulating the Fiji 7s team for clinching a silver medal in the prestigious event. He praised their hard work, dedication, and resilience, which effectively demonstrated the true spirit of Fijian rugby on a global stage.
He also acknowledged the Fijiana 7s team for their determined efforts on the field, despite not achieving the desired outcome. He commended their inspirational performance and expressed pride in how they represented the nation with passion and commitment.
The Minister also thanked the coaches and management of both teams for their steadfast support and guidance throughout the tournament. He highlighted the continued support and dedication of Osea Kolinisau and his family towards the team’s success.
