Peter Mazey, the interim chairman of the Fiji Rugby Football Union Trust Board, praised the Fiji 7s rugby team for their recent achievement at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. He emphasized that this success has paved the way for future rugby players in the country.
“Whether it’s a silver medal or a bronze medal, we should celebrate,” Mazey stated while welcoming the team back to Fiji. He highlighted that the players have brought significant recognition to Fiji on the global stage and have demonstrated remarkable spirit.
Mazey further assured that the organization will continue to support the national team in reaching greater accomplishments. He expressed gratitude to the players for their dedication to the country and encouraged them to spend quality time with their families.
In recognition of their silver medal win in Paris, the Fiji 7s men’s team and management will each receive $20,000 from the government.
