The Fiji 7s development team is fully prepared as they gear up for the Oceania Rugby Sevens Championship, which kicks off tomorrow. The squad has welcomed three key players—Manueli Maisamoa, Lasaro Bogisa, and Sakiusa Saqila—back into the fold after their successful stint with the Sri Lions at the Emirates Dubai Sevens, where they clinched the Men’s International Open Cup by defeating Speranza 36-17 in the final.

Head Coach Viliame Satala expressed his enthusiasm about the returning players, stating, “It’s great to be joined by Saqila, Maisamoa, and Lasaro who came back from Dubai and have trained well with the boys.” He noted that while the weather is hot, the team has adapted well and is effectively preparing for the tournament.

Fiji’s opening match will be against Nauru, and Coach Satala emphasized the importance of approaching every game with the utmost respect, regardless of the opponents’ stature. “We are treating this tournament with the respect we would do at the Series, and we will play to that standard,” he said.

Fiji 7s Development will face Nauru at 11:34 AM tomorrow, followed by a match against Tuvalu at 7:16 PM.

This tournament presents a valuable opportunity for the Fiji team to showcase their skills and build momentum as they aim for success. With their dedication and respect for the game, fans can look forward to an exciting performance from the players.
