Fiji 7s Star Waisale Serevi Hospitalized: Latest Update on His Condition

Legendary Fiji 7s player Waisale Serevi has been hospitalized in India due to chest pains. Serevi, who is currently the head coach for both the men’s and women’s 7s teams in India, led the women’s team to a silver medal at the Asia Rugby Emirates Sevens Trophy in Nepal before his admission on October 10.

Rugby India posted on social media expressing their best wishes for Serevi’s recovery and mentioned that they would provide updates in 24 hours. They confirmed that he is stable and in good spirits.

Manipal Hospital, where Serevi is receiving treatment, reported that a coronary angiogram revealed minor coronary artery disease. The hospital mentioned that he is stable and is expected to be moved out of the ICU soon.

In a show of support, Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka conveyed his warmest wishes to Serevi for a swift recovery, stating that thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.
