Fiji 7s Shakes Up Squad for Perth Tournament: Key Returnees and Surprising Exclusions!

Olympic silver medalist Joseva Talacolo is set to return to the HSBC SVNS Series circuit after recovering from injury. He has been included in the Fiji 7s 13-man squad for the upcoming Perth 7s taking place next weekend. Joining Talacolo are Rupeni Kabu, Tira Wilagi, and Sakiusa Siqila, who have also earned call-ups for the tournament.

Sadly, the squad will miss Sevuloni Mocenacagi and captain Jeremaia Matana, both of whom are sidelined due to injuries acquired during the McDonald’s Coral Coast 7s. Ilikimi Torosi, who participated in the earlier legs of the series, has been rested as well. Coach Osea Kolinisau has decided to take an expanded squad of 13 players, compared to the 12 originally selected for the Dubai and Cape Town legs.

Filipe Sauturaga will step into the captaincy role for the Perth tournament. The event is scheduled to start on January 24, offering the players a crucial opportunity to showcase their skills on an international platform.
