Following revisions in the Government’s stance on the payment of bonuses for silver medalists from the Paris Olympics, it has been confirmed that the players have received their promised sum of $20,000. Initially, the Ministry of Sports intended for the Ministry of Finance to directly transfer the funds to the players. However, it was later proposed that the payments would go through the Fiji Rugby Union. Head coach Osea Kolinisau has verified that the players have indeed received their bonuses. “Yes,” he affirmed when asked about the payments. Meanwhile, the Fiji men’s rugby team is undergoing rigorous gym training in preparation for their inaugural appearance in the 2024-25 HSBC SVNS series at the Dubai 7s tournament, scheduled for November 30 to December 1 at Sevens Stadium.
