The Fiji Airways men’s rugby sevens team has successfully maintained its lead in the World SVNS Series points table after three exciting events. Following their recent performance in Perth, where they finished fifth, the team has accumulated a total of 48 points, placing them at the top alongside Argentina, which recently claimed victory by defeating Australia 41-5. Spain joins them at the top with the same points total after achieving a third-place finish in Perth.

Despite the fifth-place finish in Perth, Fiji’s superior points differential ensures they remain in the leading position. In the fifth-place playoff, Fiji showcased their skills by overcoming France with a score of 17-5. Under the leadership of coach Osea Kolinisau, the team has demonstrated resilience and strong gameplay throughout the season, highlighted by their consistent performance across previous tournaments in Dubai and Cape Town.

The upcoming leg of the series will take place in Vancouver, Canada, from February 21-24, 2024. This presents another opportunity for the Fijian team to further solidify its standing and continue its quest for excellence on the international stage.

Overall, the positive outlook for Fiji reflects their capabilities and determination as a top contender in the series. As they prepare for the next challenge, fans will be eager to see how the team capitalizes on this momentum in Vancouver.
