The Fiji Airways Fijian 7s team remains in a strong position in the overall HSBC SVNS Series standings despite facing a setback in the finals of the Perth 7s, where they were defeated by South Africa. Under the leadership of Jerry Matana, the Fijian team has accrued 70 points after four tournaments, holding a narrow lead over South Africa, which follows closely with 66 points.

New Zealand is in third place with 62 points, with France and Australia tied in fourth and fifth, each having 54 points. Argentina occupies the sixth spot with 36 points, while Great Britain is at the bottom of the standings with 30 points.

On the women’s side, the Fijiana team is positioned in seventh place with a total of 40 points, significantly ahead of Great Britain, which has only 16 points. The women’s standings are currently dominated by New Zealand, leading the pack with 78 points, closely pursued by Australia in second place with 74 points.

Looking ahead, the next opportunity for the teams to compete will be at the Vancouver tournament in Canada, scheduled for the 7th and 8th of next month. Both teams show promise as they continue their campaigns in the Series, and fans will be eager to see if they can capitalize on upcoming matches to secure their standings.
