The Fiji 7s development team is ready to kick off the Oceania Rugby Sevens Championship tomorrow after ensuring they have all their players in camp. The arrival of three key players—Manueli Maisamoa, Lasaro Bogisa, and Sakiusa Saqila—adds strength to the squad following their successful outing with the Sri Lions at the Emirates Dubai Sevens, where they clinched the Men’s International Open Cup by defeating Speranza 36-17.

Head Coach Viliame Satala expressed enthusiasm about the additions, noting their positive impact during training despite the hot conditions in Honiara. “It’s great to be joined by Saqila, Maisamoa, and Lasaro who came back from Dubai and have trained well with the boys,” he said, adding that the team is adapting well to the weather while focusing on their preparations.

As the team gears up to face Nauru on the opening day, Satala emphasizes that they are approaching the tournament with the utmost respect, mirroring their attitude in the Series. Fiji 7s Development will take to the field against Nauru at 11:34 AM, followed by a match against Tuvalu at 7:16 PM.

In summary, the Fiji 7s development team’s preparation and mindset signify their commitment to performing at a high level, setting an optimistic tone for the championship. Their recent success in Dubai not only boosts their confidence but also has the potential to inspire great performances in the upcoming matches. This spirit of determination and respect for their opponents bodes well for the team’s prospects in the tournament.
