The Fiji 7s development team has finalized their roster ahead of the Oceania Rugby Sevens Championship set to kick off tomorrow. The squad welcomes back three key players—Manueli Maisamoa, Lasaro Bogisa, and Sakiusa Saqila—who returned from a victorious stint with the Sri Lions, where they won the Men’s International Open Cup, defeating Speranza 36-17 in the finals of the Emirates Dubai Sevens.

Head Coach Viliame Satala expressed enthusiasm about the returning players, stating, “It’s great to be joined by Saqila, Maisamoa, and Lasaro who came back from Dubai and have trained well with the boys.” He noted that although the weather conditions are hot, the team has adapted effectively and initiated their preparations.

As Fiji gears up to face Nauru in their opening match, Satala emphasized their approach toward the tournament, asserting, “We are treating this tournament with the respect we would do at the Series, and we will play to that standard.”

Fiji 7s Development will compete against Nauru at 11:34 AM tomorrow, followed by a match against Tuvalu at 7:16 PM.

This tournament presents an excellent opportunity for the Fiji 7s development team to showcase their skills and gain valuable experience in competitive settings, further strengthening their capabilities for future challenges. Their focus on respect for all competitors reflects a commendable attitude that could lead to success on the field.
