The Fiji 7s development team is now fully assembled as they gear up for the Oceania Rugby Sevens Championship, which kicks off tomorrow. Key players Manueli Maisamoa, Lasaro Bogisa, and Sakiusa Saqila have recently joined the training camp in Honiara after their impressive victory with the Sri Lions at the Emirates Dubai Sevens, where they won the Men’s International Open Cup by defeating Speranza 36-17 in the final.

Head Coach Viliame Satala expressed his joy in having the returning players integrate smoothly into the team, stating, “It’s great to be joined by Saqila, Maisamoa and Lasaro who came back from Dubai and have trained well with the boys.” Despite the hot weather conditions in Honiara, he noted that the players have adjusted well and are in good shape for their upcoming matches.

As the team prepares to face Nauru first, Satala emphasizes their commitment to treating this tournament with the utmost respect, mirroring the standards they would uphold in the series. The Fiji 7s Development team will kick off their campaign against Nauru at 11:34 AM tomorrow, followed by a match against Tuvalu at 7:16 PM.

This development creates a sense of optimism for the Fiji 7s team, as their recent successes and the inclusion of experienced players may provide them with the momentum needed for a strong performance in the championship. Fans can look forward to witnessing an exciting tournament as the team aims to showcase their skills and determination on the field.
