Osea Kolinisau, the head coach of the Fiji 7s rugby team, expressed his gratitude for the extension of his contract for an additional four years, highlighting that his true commitment lies with Fiji. Amidst recent uncertainty and public speculation regarding his future, Kolinisau reaffirmed his dedication to Fijian rugby.
“My heart has always been with Fiji, and I always wanted Fiji to excel in 7s. I just had to discuss the arrangements with my wife,” Kolinisau stated.
He also reflected on the insights gained from previous Olympic experiences, stressing the significance of mental readiness and the intensity of the game. “There are many lessons from the Olympics. It really comes down to mentality, and I’ve always maintained that. One key takeaway from our Olympic journey was the intensity of the game. When our training exceeds the intensity of the previous series, our performance improves, and that’s what we achieved at the Olympics,” Kolinisau added.
