The head coach of the Fiji 7s development team, Viliame Satala, emphasized that his team is taking a measured approach to the upcoming Oceania 7s Championship, showing respect for all participating nations. Despite being regarded as favorites, Satala insists that every opponent, including Nauru and Tuvalu, must be treated with seriousness since unexpected upsets can occur in sports.

Satala stated, “We are treating every team as a serious team because an upset can happen in every tournament.” This mindset reflects their commitment to compete at the highest level, similar to their strategy in the HSBC Sevens World Series.

The team’s goal in the Solomon Islands is not only to secure victories but also to enhance their squad cohesion and to implement the skills and strategies they have been practicing. “We are going to win, and we want to ensure the team plays together properly and puts into practice what they have learned in training,” he added.

The Fiji 7s team is set to depart for the tournament next Wednesday, and their preparation suggests a focused and determined approach to performing well on the international stage.

As the team gears up for the championship, fans can remain hopeful that Fiji’s commitment to respecting all opponents, coupled with strong teamwork, will lead them to success while fostering a competitive spirit within the region.
