Fiji 7s head coach Osea Kolinisau has expressed gratitude for the renewal of his contract for an additional four years, affirming that his commitment to Fiji remains strong. After a phase of uncertainty and public speculation regarding his future, Kolinisau addressed his position and dedication to Fijian rugby.
“My heart has always been with Fiji; I’ve always wanted Fiji to excel in 7s. I just needed to discuss the arrangements with my wife,” he stated.
He also highlighted the valuable lessons learned from previous Olympic performances, stressing the significance of mental preparation and the intensity of the game.
“There are many lessons from the Olympics. It ultimately comes down to mentality, and I’ve always believed that. One key takeaway from our Olympic experience was the level of game intensity. By training at a level above the intensity of previous series, our performance improves, and that’s what we focused on during the Olympics,” Kolinisau explained.
