Fiji 7s head coach Osea Kolinisau expressed his gratitude for the extension of his contract for an additional four years, stating that his loyalty has always been with Fiji. After a spell of uncertainty and public speculation regarding his future, Kolinisau reiterated his commitment to Fijian rugby.
“My heart has always been with Fiji; I always wanted Fiji to dominate in 7s. I just needed to discuss the arrangements with my wife,” he explained.
Kolinisau also reflected on the experiences gained from previous Olympic competitions, highlighting the significance of mental preparation and the intensity of the game.
“There are many lessons from the Olympics. It ultimately comes down to mentality, and that’s something I’ve always believed. We noticed a key factor at the Olympics was game intensity. By training at a higher intensity than in past series, we elevate our game, and that’s precisely what we did at the Olympics,” Kolinisau added.
