The Digicel Fiji Junior Bula Boys’ journey to the FIFA U20 World Cup in Chile next year has ended. They were defeated 1-0 by New Zealand in a challenging OFC U19 Championship semifinal match in Samoa yesterday.
In the first semifinal, New Caledonia emerged victorious over the Solomon Islands with a 3-2 scoreline.
As a result, New Zealand and New Caledonia have qualified for the 2025 U20 World Cup from the Oceania region. They will also compete for the championship title in the final.
Fiji will now face the Solomon Islands in the third-place playoff match.
The teams will meet on Thursday at 12pm at the FFS Football Stadium Field 1 in Apia.
