FIFA icon Luke Wilkshire is set to grace this year’s Extra Supermarket Fiji Football Association Awards Night as the chief guest. The prestigious event will take place at the Crown Plaza Hotel on December 1.
Wilkshire, celebrated for his role as a right back, has an impressive international career, having represented Australia in 80 matches. His club experience spans across notable teams such as Middlesbrough and Bristol City in the English Premier League, in addition to a stint with the Dutch club Feyenoord.
This announcement was made by the Fiji FA’s Chief Executive Officer, Mohammed Yusuf, emphasizing the excitement surrounding the event’s return after a three-year hiatus. The night promises to be a grand occasion, featuring 14 distinguished awards, with support from the new title sponsor, Extra Supermarket. Among the awards to be presented are the Footballer of the Year (both male and female categories), Young Footballer of the Year, Futsal Player of the Year (for both genders), Team of the Year, Administrator of the Year, Coach of the Year, Referee of the Year, Elite Player of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, and Employee of the Year.
