The Sports World Fiji U20 rugby team faced a narrow 40-36 defeat to Georgia in the ninth place semifinal at the World Rugby U20 Championship in South Africa today.

The match showcased an impressive hat-trick from Aisea Nawai and additional tries from Waisake Salabau, Avakuki Niu-salelekitoga, and Ponipate Tuberi.

Despite Fiji’s strong performance, Georgia secured their victory with tries from Nika Lomidze, Luka Keshelava, Giorgi Gergedava, Mikheil Khakhubia, and Tarieli Burtikashvili.

Meanwhile, France is through to the grand final after beating New Zealand 55-31, while England earned their spot with a 31-20 victory against Ireland.

The final is scheduled for Sunday.
