The SOE was notified of the file closure on September 20, 2024.
FICAC clarified that during the divorce proceedings between Tabuya and Semaan, both parties were not represented by Barbara Malimali, who later became FICAC Commissioner. Seruiratu expressed concerns regarding Malimali’s role in the case closure and suggested the possibility of undue influence from Tabuya. However, FICAC countered that Seruiratu’s statements were misleading, as all actions related to the investigation occurred before Malimali’s appointment.
