The Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption (FICAC) is on the lookout for a legal consultant to provide essential high-level legal review and strategic litigation support. The selected individual will play a key role in the processing and management of investigation files, including assessing evidence and making recommendations on case progression or closure.
Candidates must have at least 25 years of legal experience in Fiji. The contract will initially span one month with the possibility for an extension of two additional months. The consultant will report directly to the Acting Commissioner of FICAC and will need to adhere to strict confidentiality measures, including signing a non-disclosure agreement and disclosing any potential conflicts of interest.
This initiative aligns with the recent reforms introduced by newly appointed Acting Commissioner Lavi Rokoika, who is focused on enhancing FICAC’s operational efficiency. Previously, FICAC has engaged senior legal consultants to prioritize longstanding cases and has restructured its departments to better tackle corruption through streamlined processes. The restructuring also included the formation of a Special Taskforce to expedite investigations.
