The Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption (FICAC) will investigate the reported leak of a letter from former acting deputy commissioner Francis Puleiwai, who urged for formal charges against Deputy Prime Minister Biman Prasad. FICAC Commissioner Barbara Malimali confirmed that the organization is not only addressing the leak but is also pursuing its inquiry into Professor Biman.

“We will investigate the leaks from FICAC,” Ms. Malimali stated. “As for DPM Prasad, I am aware of the ongoing investigations, and I trust the team handling the matter.”

She acknowledged that she has not yet reviewed the case files concerning the 17 notable individuals referred to FICAC. “To be honest, I have not seen some of those case files. I have been requesting them, but they have not reached my desk yet. Each referral is in the hands of our investigative team, and I will allow them to address each complaint.”
