The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) has forwarded the investigation file concerning Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption (FICAC) Commissioner Barbara Malimali to the Director of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) for further investigation.
In a statement, the ODPP revealed that the decision followed consultations between Deputy DPP John Rabuku, assigned to review the case, and Acting DPP Nancy Tikoisuva.
Last week, the ODPP received the investigation file from FICAC regarding Malimali.
The statement indicated that it was determined the investigation was incomplete, prompting the file’s transfer to the CID Director with recommendations for completion.
Once the CID concludes its investigation, the file will be returned to the ODPP for a thorough analysis of all gathered evidence.
The ODPP will provide an update on the findings of the review once it receives the completed investigation file and makes a decision.
