FHL Tower Back on Track: Safety First Amid Resumption of Construction

Fijian Holdings Limited has announced the resumption of rectification work on the FHL Tower following the arrival of replacement materials from international sources and the successful resolution of regulatory clearances. This development follows the lifting of a stop work order after the Ministry confirmed compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety regulations at the construction site.

FHL stated that all required safety measures have been integrated into current work practices to create a safer working environment. Temporary power has been restored, enabling construction efforts to continue as the company focuses on completing the project.

This update comes after a previous unfortunate incident on November 25, 2024, when two workers were injured at the construction site, leading to significant safety concerns and a temporary halt in work. Although FHL has not disclosed specific details about the injuries sustained, they are committed to upholding rigorous safety standards and ensuring the well-being of their workers.

Fijian Holdings has maintained its focus on safety throughout its construction process, demonstrating resilience and commitment to responsible management. The company has successfully raised $30 million through an oversubscribed corporate bond issue, indicating strong investor confidence in the FHL Tower, which stands as a significant investment for the future of Fiji.

Despite setbacks, the community can remain hopeful about the tower’s eventual completion, which is expected to contribute positively to the local economy and skyline. The emphasis on safety and regulatory compliance not only supports the well-being of workers but also sets a positive precedent for future construction projects across the region.
