As the festive season approaches, the Fiji Police Force is ramping up its operations to ensure public safety. Beginning yesterday, officers have been briefed on the significance of these initiatives aimed at fostering a secure environment for everyone as they engage in holiday activities.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations, Livai Driu, emphasized the importance of early preparation for the festive season. He noted that this proactive approach will help remind individuals about prioritizing their personal safety during this joyful time. “We encourage everyone to be mindful of their safety while traveling, shopping, enjoying picnics by the sea, or spending time with friends,” said ACP Driu.
The increased police presence is intended to provide a sense of security for everyone, with the understanding that safety starts with individual responsibility. ACP Driu highlighted the Force’s commitment to maintaining law and order, stating that police will collaborate with various stakeholders to monitor movements, particularly on the roads.
