A collaborative effort by the Police Mobile Force (PMF), the Fiji Detector Dog Unit (FDDU), and the Divisional Operations Team resulted in a successful operation in Nadonumai today. This operation led to the arrest of three individuals suspected of unlawfully possessing illicit drugs.
Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Livai Driu reported that the efforts included two separate raids in the region. During one of these raids, law enforcement officials discovered substances believed to be marijuana, along with stolen electronics and various items purportedly utilized for packaging drugs.
The three apprehended suspects are currently in custody at Lami Police Station as investigations into the matter continue. ACP Driu highlighted that enhancing efforts to disrupt criminal networks is a priority, especially during this festive season. He called on the community to support police efforts in tackling drug-related offenses by reporting suspicious activities to Crime Stoppers at 919.
This operation illustrates the ongoing commitment of law enforcement to combat drug-related crimes, especially during critical times of the year. The proactive approach taken by the task force is pivotal in fostering safer communities and curbing the distribution of illegal substances, ultimately benefiting society as a whole.
It is a hopeful sign that heightened vigilance and community involvement can lead to significant reductions in criminal activity.
