A coordinated operation involving officers from the Police Mobile Force (PMF), the Fiji Detector Dog Unit (FDDU), and a divisional operations team was executed in Nadonumai today, leading to the arrest of three individuals suspected of unlawfully possessing illicit drugs.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations, Livai Driu, revealed that the task force was sent to the area to carry out two separate raids. One operation resulted in the seizure of substances believed to be marijuana, stolen gadgets, and equipment thought to be used for packaging illegal drugs.
Currently, the three arrested men are in custody at the Lami Police Station while investigations are ongoing. ACP Driu emphasized that during this festive season, efforts are concentrated on disrupting criminal networks and putting pressure on their activities through such raids. He also highlighted the importance of community involvement in combating drug-related crimes, urging the public to report any suspicious activities to Crime Stoppers at 919.
This proactive approach not only addresses drug-related issues but also fosters community engagement, creating a safer environment for everyone. With continued cooperation between law enforcement and the public, there is hope for a significant reduction in drug-related crimes.
