A joint task force, including members from the Police Mobile Force (PMF), the Fiji Detector Dog Unit (FDDU), and the Divisional Operations Team, successfully executed a raid in Nadonumai today, resulting in the arrest of three individuals on suspicion of illegal possession of illicit drugs.
Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Livai Driu reported that the operation consisted of two distinct raids within the area. During one of these raids, authorities discovered substances believed to be marijuana, stolen electronics, and equipment purportedly used for the packaging of drugs.
The three detainees are currently held at the Lami Police Station while investigations proceed. ACP Driu highlighted the aim of this operation, noting that heightened efforts are being made during the festive season to disrupt criminal networks and apply increased pressure on illegal activities through strategic operations.
He encouraged members of the public to contribute to the fight against drug-related crimes by reporting any suspicious activity to Crime Stoppers at 919.
This proactive approach by law enforcement demonstrates a commitment to community safety, especially during a time when many celebrate the season. It sends a strong message that illegal activities will not be tolerated and emphasizes the importance of public cooperation in maintaining safety and security in the community.
