A combined operation involving the Police Mobile Force (PMF), Fiji Detector Dog Unit (FDDU), and the Divisional Operations Team took place today in Nadonumai, resulting in the arrest of three men for suspected possession of illegal drugs.
Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Livai Driu confirmed that the task force executed two separate raids in the area. During the operation, officers discovered substances believed to be marijuana, as well as stolen electronic devices and packaging materials typically used for illicit drug distribution.
The three individuals are currently in custody at the Lami Police Station, where they will remain while investigations proceed.
ACP Driu highlighted that the focus during this festive season is to disrupt criminal activities and apply pressure on drug-related offenses through targeted operations. He also called on the community to participate in combating drug crime by reporting any suspicious behavior to Crime Stoppers at 919.
This proactive approach by law enforcement not only addresses drug-related issues but also fosters a safer environment for the community during a time that typically sees an increase in festivities. Encouraging public involvement is a positive step toward enhancing collective safety and promoting vigilance against crime.
