Jonetani Tonawai, the chief executive officer of the Fiji Commerce and Employers Federation (FCEF), is resigning to pursue new opportunities. Mr. Tonawai has held the position since July of the previous year.
FCEF chairperson Vinay Narsey expressed gratitude for Tonawai’s dedication to the federation, stating, “We fully support his decision and wish him every success in his future endeavours.” He noted that after a year in the role, Tonawai is moving on to focus on his passion for training and development, as well as other personal business interests.
Reflecting on his time at FCEF, Mr. Tonawai described his experience as both productive and enjoyable, highlighting his efforts to understand the needs of the private sector and collaborate with stakeholders for sustainable economic growth in Fiji.
The FCEF has announced that it will continue to represent the interests of businesses throughout Fiji and will work to promote a supportive business environment while beginning the search for Tonawai’s successor.
