Jonetani Tonawai, the chief executive officer of the Fiji Commerce and Employers Federation (FCEF), is resigning from his position to explore new opportunities. He has held the role since July of the previous year.
FCEF chairperson Vinay Narsey expressed gratitude for Tonawai’s dedication, stating, “We are deeply grateful for Jonetani’s commitment to FCEF.” Narsey also mentioned that the organization fully supports Tonawai’s decision and wishes him success in his future endeavors. He added, “After exactly one year in the job, it’s time to move on focusing on his passion in training and development and other personal business interests.”
Tonawai reflected on his time with FCEF, describing it as a productive experience. “It’s been a productive and enjoyable journey understanding the private sector needs and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure sustainable economic development for the private sector and Fiji as a whole,” he remarked.
In light of Tonawai’s departure, FCEF announced that it will continue its mission to represent the interests of businesses throughout Fiji and to create a dynamic and supportive business environment, while also beginning the search for his successor.
